An Inspiring Visit
Chris Godfrey spent the afternoon and evening with us on November 12th, and gave a wonderful presentation of his experience with faith and his committment to virtue, truth and purity. He spoke of the trials in his early football career; how he had been devastated by being cut four times in one year. Falling to his knees, he put his life and his trust in God. Inspired by a passage from Matthew, "Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all this things will be added to you," he made a committment to follow God's plans for his life and to do things God's way not his. He went on to great success in football, becoming a member of the winning Giants superbowl team. Speaking of his superbowl ring and the many other blessings he has received from these successes, he said, "as great as all these things are, the best thing I have is my relationship with God." What an honor to have both a great athlete and faithful role model here with our teens.

A Champion for Life
From playing on three University of Michigan Rose Bowl teams, to nine years in the NFL, to starting right guard for The Superbowl XXI champion New York Giants, Chris Godfrey has been no stranger to success. After retiring from the NFL, he went on to earn a law degree from The University of Notre Dame. He has already achieved more than most will in a lifetime, but being a true champion, he has not stopped striving for success. He seeks it now in an attempt to reach the hearts of young people, inspiring a committment to integrity, purity and a respect for life. He is president and founder of Life Athletes, Inc.
