Guest Speakers

We have been blessed to have the support of the following speakers for presentations to the teens at our monthly meetings.

Fr. Benedict Groeschel

Fr. Benedict allowed us to videotape a personal presentation from him to our teens, addressing a number of issues of The Faith as they pertain to young people today. His wit and wisdom is a joy to share with the teens and given his non-stop schedule of travel, seminars and television, we are most grateful for his making the time for us.

Fr. Joseph Fessio

Fr. Fessio, founder and editor of Ignatius Press, editor of Catholic World Report, and Theologian in Residence at Ave Maria University, let us interview and tape him for presentations to the teens on a number of interesting and sophisticated topics. Several Drop of Clear Water members have gone on to attend Ave Maria University.

Fr. Glen Sudano

One of the original Franciscan Friars of The Renewal, Fr. Glen has also graciously allowed us to interview and tape him for presentations to our teens on a variety of subjects such as prayer, chastity, discernment and providence. He is also our spiritual director for A Drop of Clear Water. For more information on the Franciscan Friars of The Renewal click on this link.

Fr. Luke Sweeny

Fr. Luke Sweeny , Director of Vocations for The Archdiocese of NY, has come to our meetings and spoken to the teens about vocations and about The Cathedral Prep Program at St. Joseph's Seminary in Dunwoody, NY. He prayed The Divine Office with the teens and their parents, and spent a very generous amount of time with them one-on-one. See more about The Cathedral Prep Program at this link.

He gave a wonderful presentation of his experience with faith and his commitment to virtue, truth and purity. He captivated the teens with his moving life story and clear examples of why to live a chaste life. For more information about the life and mission of Chris Godfrey, visit Life Athletes

Jason Evert

In 2004, Jason Evert, author of the books "Teen Relationships," "If You Really Loved Me," and the booklet "Pure Love," gave a chastity talk called Romance Without Regret to the members of A Drop Of Clear Water and to the students of Burke Catholic High School in Goshen, NY. After his presentation at Burke High School, Jason Evert offered to meet with any students who wished to speak with him further. He went into the chapel where he talked to students non-stop for the next 7 hours! A Drop of Clear Water is a lay support group for Catholic teens. Our goal is to bring together teens who love their faith, are committed to chastity, and are ready to explore the wonder and beauty of Catholicism.

"I never thought I could change the world, I only wanted to be a drop of clear water, through which God's love could shine."

~Blessed Teresa of Calcutta
