Characteristics of A Drop of Clear Water
-
A support group geared towards Catholic teens but which includes parents and younger siblings at monthly meetings.
-
During the meetings, the teens and any interested adults meet in a separate area from the younger siblings for prayer and a presentation on a topic of The Faith lasting about an hour.
-
The presentations are always completely orthodox, consistent with the Magisterium of The Roman Catholic Church.
-
The presentations cover a wide range of topics, but are weighted towards Catholic sexual morality as this is a critical issue for teens.
-
All teens make a vow of chastity.
-
The presentations also address the profound truths and mysteries of The Faith without watering them down.
-
DVD’s may take the place of a presenter but they are stopped occasionally to allow for audience interaction.
-
Guest speakers are arranged when possible, particularly priests and religious.
-
Following the presentation, everyone gathers for a pot-luck dinner and socializing for a few hours.
-
Discussions continue amongst the teens as well as the adults regarding the topic of the presentation.
-
After the meeting, the teens can continue the discussion or start new ones online at the DCW website discussion board.
-
In addition to monthly meetings, we have charitable work projects about once a year.
-
All members and their parents need to sign a membership agreement.
-
We also welcome non-Catholic guests as long as their parent/ guardian signs a guest agreement.
Since 2004, when our apostolate began, there have been certain essential characteristics of our gatherings:
A Drop of Clear Water is a lay support group for Catholic teens. Our goal is to bring together teens who love their faith, are committed to chastity, and are ready to explore the wonder and beauty of Catholicism.
